Who is behind the camera
I am Giuseppe Salva, wedding photographer in Basel and all over Switzerland. I have been accompanying bridal couples on their most beautiful day for over 10 years, with more than 500 weddings in my portfolio. We deliver photo and video from a single source, as a small, well-coordinated team. Foto & Video Salva is a second generation family business, founded in 1978. I have known and loved this work since I was a child.
What makes me stand out as a wedding photographer in Basel
Basel is my city. I know the light on the Rhine in the early morning, the alleyways of the old town after sunset and the most beautiful corners of the Merian Gardens. This local knowledge makes all the difference. On the day of your wedding, I don’t have to search, I just see the moments.
My style is spontaneous and unposed. I observe, wait and am there when it counts. The look just before the laughter, the hand still on the arm, the sigh of relief after the yes-word. You’ll look at these pictures in twenty years’ time and say: that’s how it was. That’s exactly how it was.

Wedding photography in Basel from a single source: photo, video and photo box
With us, you don’t get a photographer who leaves at the end of the day while the videographer continues filming. We work as a well-coordinated team of two who understand and coordinate both disciplines. Drone shots at weddings are more than just a trend today. They are an emotional highlight that perfectly complements classic ground photography. As a licensed drone pilot with the DJI Pro, we can also film your wedding from the air.
The bridal couple from above in the castle garden, the wedding party in front of Basel Minster or the wedding car on the way to the location – you can only get pictures like these from the air. Your Basel wedding photographer will fly in Basel, Baselland and the whole of north-western Switzerland if the weather conditions are suitable.

How much does a wedding photographer in Basel cost?
The prices for a wedding photographer in Basel vary depending on the scope of services. At Foto & Video Salva, packages start from CHF 850 for a civil ceremony. For a full wedding day with photo and video, we recommend our combination package from CHF 6,900. You can find all prices on our price page.
How far in advance should I book a wedding photographer in Basel?
We recommend booking 9 to 18 months before the wedding date, especially for summer Saturdays from May to September. For weekdays or winter weddings, it is often possible to book at shorter notice.
Do you also take photos outside Basel?
Yes, we are active throughout Switzerland – from Basel via Zurich, Bern and Lucerne to St. Gallen. Travel costs within Basel-Stadt are included. For weddings outside of Basel-Stadt we charge a travel fee – we will be happy to make you an individual offer.
Do you provide both photos and video?
Yes, that’s our big advantage: we work as a well-coordinated team of two and deliver photo and video from a single source. So you have a consistent style and only one contact person for your entire wedding day.
How and when will I receive my wedding photos?
Yes, we are active throughout Switzerland – from Basel via Zurich, Bern and Lucerne to St. Gallen. Travel costs within Basel-Stadt are included. For weddings outside of Basel-Stadt we charge a travel fee – we will be happy to make you an individual offer.
