The Basel-Stadt registry office is located right in the heart of the city. The atmosphere is dignified and personal, just right for a small wedding ceremony. The winter gives the pictures depth: soft light, quiet streets, clear air over the Rhine.

I accompany bridal couples from the very beginning. When they arrive, during the first moment together after saying “I do”, the silent glances in between. These images are not created through direction, but through attention.

After the wedding ceremony, we used Basel’s old town for the couple shoot. Basel is particularly beautiful in January: empty alleyways, warm light, the Rhine in calm gray.

We also captured the mood at the aperitif. Laughter, hugs, the first congratulations. Moments that cannot be captured.
