Alexa and Roman said &#8220;I do&#8221; on May 8, 2026 at Wedding Schadau Castle in Thun. An intimate wedding with 35 guests, a free wedding ceremony on the lakeshore and a panorama framed by the Eiger, M\u00f6nch and Jungfrau. For us at Foto &amp; Video Salva, it was a reportage that shows what has driven us as a second-generation family business since 1978: Photographing days as they actually felt for the couple.<\/p>\n<p class=\"font-claude-response-body break-words whitespace-normal leading-[1.7]\">We traveled from Basel because beautiful weddings don&#8217;t stop at cantonal borders. Built between 1846 and 1854 in the neo-Renaissance style, it is now considered one of the most beautiful event locations in Switzerland. For weddings, the castle offers everything a reportage needs: historic interiors with high ceilings, a curved staircase in the entrance area, a terrace overlooking the lake and a park suitable for open-air weddings.<\/p>\n<p class=\"font-claude-response-body break-words whitespace-normal leading-[1.7]\">We accompanied Roman as he got ready in one of the upstairs rooms, where the daylight fell softly through the old mullioned windows. A speaker in an olive green dress led through the ceremony, accompanied by a guitarist playing live. In the background was the water of Lake Thun, with the snow-capped peaks behind it. This backdrop needs no staging, it is impressive in its own right. There was an aperitif on the terrace in front of the castle, with family photos in between and a group photo with everyone at the end. The evening light in May is particularly soft in the Bernese Oberland because it lingers longer over the water than elsewhere. We took pictures in the allium bed in front of the castle, classic bridal couple pictures with a mountain panorama and a detail in black and white of the clasped hands with the wedding rings.
