This Basel Picton ship shoot was an extraordinary assignment in the middle of the Rhine. In March 2026, we accompanied the historic motor ship on its private cruise through Basel using photography and a drone. The result was a unique photo reportage in bright spring light. The Mittlere Brücke and Basel Minster formed the unforgettable city backdrop.
Basel boat shoot – drone and ground photography on the Rhine
The Picton Basel is a lovingly restored historic motor ship. With its striking green and red hull and colorful signal flags, it immediately stands out on the Rhine. For this private photo shoot, we combined drone shots from a bird’s eye view with classic photography from the shore and directly from on board. The result was dynamic shots with the iconic city panorama of Basel in the background. From the banks of the Rhine in Grossbasel to the tower of Basel Cathedral – each image tells its own story.
The result comprises a total of 20 professionally edited photos and two high-quality photo prints in 30 x 45 cm format. Drone shots over the Middle Bridge and portrait shots on deck make this reportage a lasting memento of a special trip on the Rhine.
Photo shoot on the water – Basel from a new perspective
A Basel Picton boat shoot offers unique opportunities. The water, Basel’s old town and the historic bridges form a natural stage that no studio can replace. As a portrait photographer in Basel, we accompany our clients to very special places. Because the most beautiful pictures are created where the personal story is at home.
Professional fine art prints – pictures you can touch
For this Basel ship shoot, we not only supplied digital files, but also produced two exclusive fine art prints in 30 x 45 cm format. We work with a professional print shop that specializes in high-quality fine art prints. Only archive-proof inks and selected papers are used – for color fidelity, sharpness of detail and a durability of over 100 years.
A fine art print is more than just a photo on the wall – it is a work of art. The velvety surface, the vivid colors and the tangible depth make every picture a special experience. Whether as a gift, a memento in the living room or a prestigious picture in the office: our fine art prints transform digital images into timeless unique pieces. On request, we offer various formats, framing and paper types – individually tailored to your picture and your room.
Why a Basel boat shoot on the Rhine?
Basel and the Rhine belong together like hardly any other city and its river in Switzerland. A Basel boat shoot combines professional photography with the unique atmosphere on the water. Whether for private occasions, corporate events or special celebrations – the combination of historic ship, flowing current and the Basel skyline creates images that could not be produced in a studio. Our team has mobile lighting, drone equipment and years of experience in outdoor photography. This allows us to guarantee first-class results even in changeable conditions.
In addition to classic portrait shots, we also realize event reportages, team photos or lifestyle shoots on board on request. Each project is planned individually – from the choice of route to the optimal time of day to post-processing in our studio in Basel. You will receive the finished images as high-resolution files via a download link, optionally supplemented by professional fine art prints. For corporate clients, we also offer special packages with social media formats, print templates and a uniform visual language.
Whether it’s an intimate private cruise for two, a corporate event with guests or a creative shoot for your brand – in the end, it’s the result that counts: authentic, lively and professional images that capture your story on the water.
